Authorities have acted swiftly, with the US Department of Health and Human Services reporting that another American on the same repatriation flight has shown mild symptoms. Out of an abundance of caution, both individuals returned in biocontainment units. French Health Minister Stéphanie Rist has indicated that at least 22 individuals who came into contact with the infected woman are now under surveillance.
